TRAILER: Newt Scamander And His ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Are Being Hunted

Apr 11, 2016

Fantastics Beasts has finally landed a full feature trailer and it seeming does invoke the magical world from the Harry Potter franchise, luckily director David Yates is back at the helm in the first of a trilogy. It seemingly has less of a childish tone to it, likely having to do with the loyal Potter fans and it’s cast being well into their 20’s.

It does look wonderful and I’m much more enthused about the film than when the first teaser was released. I have a feeling that setting these stories in a period setting will make for some serious Oscar contentions for settings and costumes.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

Set in the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling and directed by David Yates. The film stars Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ron Perlman, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Gemma Chan, and Jon Voight.

Fantastic Beasts is set release on November 18th, 2016.
