‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Star Isabela Moner Set To Star in ‘Dora the Explorer’

May 4, 2018

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Transformers: The Last Knight and Sicario 2 star Isabela Moner has been cast in the upcoming live-action Dora the Explorer movie. This comes off the studio revealing the very first banner for the movie at CinemaCon last week. Moner adds:

“I’m honored and excited to bring Dora to life. I grew up watching the show, and for me, especially as a Latina, Dora was an amazing role model — she is a strong, adventurous and fun-loving girl. I can’t wait to put on the backpack and begin her next adventure!”

We at Omega Underground revealed that production is expected to begin this August in Australia. It will follow 15-year-old Dora with her talking monkey Boots and her cousin Diego as they go on an adventure.

The Muppets and Neighbors writer Nick Stoller is penning the script with James Bobin directing. Micheal Bay is producing through his Platinum Dunes umbrella.  Last October, Moner dressed up as Dora and posted this selfie on her Instagram:
