Two Actresses In The Mix For David Gordon Green’s ‘Halloween’ Reboot
Horror remakes are quite the norm lately, but Blumhouse’s Halloween remake just might break the mold. They’re being extremely respectful to the source material and extending an olive branch to creator John Carpenter to get involved.
Usually, John has nothing to do with the remakes of his films but Blumhose seems to be doing the right thing here. Carpenter will act as a producer and has suggested an interest in doing the music for the film.
David Gordon Green (Your Highness, The Sitter, Pineapple Express), who had been trying to put together a remake of Dario Argento’s giallo horror classic Suspiria for years will be directing the film.
David will be writing the film with comedian Danny McBride. However, they’re taking the project seriously and Carpenter seemed to be impressed by the duo’s pitch.
“David and Danny both came to my office recently with [Blumhouse producer] Jason Blum and shared their vision for the new movie and … WOW. They get it. I think you’re gonna dig it. They blew me away.”
We now have a couple updates on the project.
First, we’ve discovered that the film’s working title will be Night Blade.
Second, Omega Underground has uncovered two audition tapes for the role of “Allyson“, who seemingly is one of the high school girls in the film.
The actresses in the tapes are newcomers Chloe Csengery (Paranormal Activity 3, Modern Family) and Allison Winn (Daredevil, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt). It’s unknown if this role is the lead (replacing Laurie?), another character or if the name is just a cover.

The lines of dialog don’t give too much away but there is a reference to their school’s prom and actresses do look to be in the right age range for teens.
We haven’t learned when production begins (yet), but it’s expected to shoot in Lousiana possibly in the fall.
Halloween has been given a proper horror release date of October 19th, 2018.
