Deadline reports that young actor Tye Sheridan has landed the male lead role of Wade in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, which is setup at Warner Bros.
His co-stars include Olivia Cooke and Ben Mendelsohn.
It’s expected the role could develop into a reoccurring franchise lead, with potential sequel commitments in his contact.
Tye will next be seen as the young 80’s version of Scott Summers aka Cyclops in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse. He had also been my favorite for the young Spider-Man role, before he was cast in the X-Men franchise.
