Principal photography has begun on the untitled Han Solo film. As a treat to fans, StarWars.com has an exclusive first look at the cast.

Assembled on the bridge of the Millennium Falcon are Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Pheobe Waller-Bridge (Broadchurch), Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Ceasar!), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Donald Glover (Atlanta) and Joonas Suotamo playing Chewbacca. No word on whether or not Peter Mayhew will return to play the character. Along for the ride in this pic are directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie). According to the site, we get a sneak peek at a little of the plot:

The movie will explore the duo’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.

The fact that they mention card playing means that we might get to finally see the game that lost Lando the Falcon in the first place. The site does also go on to confirm that actress Thandie Newton (Westworld) has joined the cast in an unnamed role as well. The film, written by the father/son team of Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Silverado, The Force Awakens) and Jon Kasdan (Freaks and Geeks, Dawson’s Creek), is slated for release May 25, 2018.
