After landing a world premiere at SXSW, Lionsgate’s ‘Untitled Charlize Theron-Seth Rogen Comedy’ formerly known as ‘Flarsky’ is moving up its release from June 7 to May 3.
This shows that Lionsgate has lots of confidence in the film, and is playing it not only closer to SXSW, but also putting it on the weekend following Disney & Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
The Theron-Rogen comedy centers on an ambitious diplomat with a spotless reputation and a hard-partying journalist. The film follows them as they redefine “international relations” and try to keep their red-hot romance under wraps.
Jonathan Levine directs from Dan Sterling’s screenplay. O’Shea Jackson Jr., Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, Ravi Patel and Alexander Skarsgård also star.
On its new date, the Rogen-Theron comedy will release with STX’s ‘UglyDolls’ and Screen Gems’ ‘The Intruder.’
