Untitled Silver Sable/Black Cat Project Aiming For Fall Production Start

Mar 28, 2017

Sony is reportedly moving forward with three Spider-Man spin-off films set outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We’ve spotted a production update concerning the untitled Silver Sable/Black Cat project from a new listing on My Entertainment World. It seems from this information that Sony is planning on shooting this film during this fall around the same time as Venom. This would support The Hollywood Reporter’s piece that talked about a fall shoot.

Thor: Ragnarok screenwriter Chris Yost was recently announced for the project.

Silver Sable, is a mercenary who runs a company that hunts war criminals. The character has been both antagonist and ally to Spider-Man. Black Cat is a cat burglar with superpowers, who eventually become romantically involved and partnered with Spider-Man.

It’s rumored that Venom will be getting an R-rated, it’s unknown if this project will attempt that avenue or crossover with it.

An expectation would be that if the film is shooting this fall the film could be ready for release in late 2018 or early 2019.
