Christopher Nolan’s untitled ‘Event Film’ has Elizabeth Debicki onboard as the newest cast member. Collider‘s report of Robert Pattinson joining the cast in a lead role is also now confirmed.
There no character details, or plot details. Although, it will be a massive, innovative, action blockbuster, which will again be shown in Imax.
Debicki was in several films last year, with Jennifer Fox’s ‘The Tale,’ Will Gluck’s ‘Peter Rabbit,’ Julius Onah’s ‘The Cloverfield Paradox,’ and Steve McQueen’s ‘Widows.’ She was also in James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’ Next, she will be in the HBO series ‘Lovecraft Country.’ She will also reprise her role of Ayesha in the forthcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.’
Recently, Pattinson was in James Gray’s ‘The Lost City of Z’ and the Safdie Bros.’ ‘Good Time.’ This year, he has Claire Denis’ ‘High Life,’ releasing April 5th, as well as Robert Eggers’ ‘The Lighthouse’ and David Michôd’s ‘The King,’ born undated as of now. He is currently on-set for the Antonio Campos and Netflix film ‘The Devil All the Time.’
Pattinson and John David Washington (‘Ballers,’ ‘BlacKkKlansman’) will play the two male leads, while Debicki has the female lead. There is also an older male co-starring role that has not been cast yet.
As for fake news, the film will be not be a romantic thriller in the vein of Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘North By Northwest’ and Nolan’s ‘Inception.’
However, it is still unclear whether or not there is truth to the previous crew announcements:
- Cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema (‘Interstellar,’ ‘Dunkirk’)
- Production designer Nathan Crowley (‘Dunkirk,’ ‘First Man’)
Further, filming could begin this June.
Warner Bros. will release the film on July 17, 2020.
