UPDATE: ‘IT: Chapter 2’ Changes Working Title – Start Pushed To July?

Mar 24, 2018

A while back we reported that New Line Cinema was set to begin filming on IT: Chapter 2 on June 18th in Toronto (Pinewood Toronto Studios) and Port Hope (Derry) under the working title Drive Thru (nod to Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 2).

Well, there’s been an update as they’ve changed the working title to Largo and seemingly could be pushing the filming start to sometime in July.

The new title is a little less cut-and-dry as the last one.

It could be a reference to Ritchie’s comedy career hinting to Largo At The Coronet, an Los Angeles comedy club. Largo, Flordia could be the location of one of the adult Losers. This one is a bigger stretch but Largo could be referencing the Spanish (Andy is Spanish) title to King’s Dark Tower comic book series The Long Road Home (El Largo Camino A Casa).

The latter could have something to do with the schools in Port Hope and the amount of time they’d likely need to prep locations before filming there. We aways knew the aim was to film over the summer break as to cause less headaches to the Port Hope community.

Andy Muschietti is set return as director with Bill Skarsgard back as Pennywise and Jessica Chastain as an adult version of Beverly.

This still suggests they’ll wrap around November.

WB has given IT: Chapter 2 a release date of September 6th, 2019.
