A while back we revealed that Justin Kurzel’s Nazi-hunter thriller Ruin was planning on filming this fall with Gal Gadot in the leading role.
Well, Deadline has some major updates on the film which has lead to some extensive delays.
Reporting that Margot Robbie will replace Gadot and newly attached Matthias Schoenaerts as the male lead.
Adding that the film’s production start is now delayed to April-June in Prague.
Set in the ruins of post-WWII Germany, pic will follow a Holocaust survivor (Robbie) who is forced to make an unlikely alliance with an ex-SS captain (Schoenaerts) in her quest to exact revenge. Together, they hunt down the surviving members of the captain’s former Nazi death squad.
Ruin’s script was penned by brother screenwriting duo of Ryan Firpo and Matt Firpo, who were recently hired by Marvel Studios to write a script for The Eternals movie.
This project seemingly smacks in the middle of Robbie’s Birds of Prey and the possible fall 2019 shoot of Suicide Squad 2.
A release date has yet to be announced.
