Today, Variety announced that the USA Network has put to order a Jason Bourne-esque TV Series based on the CIA Black Ops protocol Treadstone. Set within the universe of assassin turned super spy Jason Bourne (Played famously by Matt Damon) the series will follow a group of sleeper agents as they are “awakened” for deadly missions.
The series will go into production sometime next year for 12 episodes. Chris McCumber, president of entertainment networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment adds: “As the #1 cable entertainment network for the past 12 years, USA Network is delivering a dynamic lineup of big, bold programming – and what could be bigger and bolder than the Treadstone mythology?”
