What was your first Cosplay experience?
My first costume was Aerith Gainsborough from Final Fantasy VII. I believe the first time I wore the costume in public was at a comic convention in Philadelphia. I also wore it to a few local anime cons. It was a very comfortable and pretty costume although I never truly got my bangs to defy gravity. I have since sold the costume.

How long have you been Cosplaying?
I have been cosplaying since 2006. Aerith was my first. Belle was my second. It just snow balled from there.

Who or what inspired you to take up Cosplaying?
Seeing pictures of cosplayers from Japan on the internet is what inspired me. To be more specific, it was a photo of a beautiful Japanese woman dressed as Riku from Final Fantasy X-2. It was so creative and artistic and I wanted to give the hobby a try.

If you had to pick a favorite Cosplay you have worn, or have seen someone else wear, what would it be?
It’s always difficult for me to narrow down what my favorite costume is because in all honesty, I love every character I have brought to life. My answer always changes when I am asked to pick a favorite cosplay. Everything from Supergirl to Regina the Evil Queen, Huntress and The Invisible Woman. I love them all.

If you had unlimited funds and resources, what Cosplay would you create?
There are so many costumes that would make that list! I’d love to be Iron Man. I know that would take a lot of work but would be worth it. A Wonder Woman variant made of leather and metal would be great. In all honesty what I really need is a sewing machine. I still do things by hand.

What advice would you offer to those who are aspiring Cosplayers?
Pick a character and go for it! Become a part of costume communities and look up tutorials online. Be prepared to spend your money but don’t neglect your responsibilities and bills.
