The second issue of this highly anticipated horror epic W0rldtr33 is out. The first issue was used to pull you into this frightening and suspenseful universe where the one thing that we all have and use is weaponized, namely the internet. A truly terrifying thought. The second issue is used for world and character building but it is done in a way that still leaves you with an uneasy feeling.

W0RLDTR33 #2 is not as dark and violent or as shocking as the debut issue, however, Tynion IV uses this issue to set the stage so to speak. You might think and feel this is a rather slow build-up, but, boy oh boy when when the wheels do come off, we are going to be in for one hellish ride. So, Ellison Lane older brother to the deranged killer from issue one, yes the boy who stabbed like 60 people and put it on social media. Well, Elisson is still I presume in the same police station where we left him at the end of issue one, now not visiting but in custody.  The rest of the cast is investigating the hoe of Ellison’s younger brother. Fausta also investigating the home finds herself in some deep water.

The first issue shines the light on the negative impact the internet and social media may have on younger people and children and the way it can shape someone’s mind. The second issue however has a rather honest yet disturbing conversation in it about emotions and feelings and it works brilliantly within the scope.

Final Thought

There is a lot that happens in this issue and it builds up a certain tension of what is to come while developing characters and building a believable world. I can not wait for the third installment of this truly unnerving book.
