WB Looking at ’21 Jump Street’ Directors Chris Miller & Phil Lord For ‘The Flash’

Apr 4, 2015

Last summer I had written up a list of WB directors that should helm future DC movies heading into this brand new DC Cinematic Universe. And not to brag or anything but I have been on the nose when it came to these predictions (again not scoops just my own personal predictions). You can read my full list over at our old site Superhero Movie News. So far from my list it was rumored that Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow was looked at to helm Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot but it ultimately went to Game of Thrones director Michelle McLaren (via The Hollywood Reporter). Then it was revealed that 300: Rise of an Empire director Noam Murro was being eyed to helm Aquaman starring Jason Momoa (via Latino-Review).

Now while on the latest episode of Meet The Movie Press it was revealed that WB is indeed looking at 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie directors Chris Miller & Phil Lord to helm the upcoming big screen adaption of The Flash starring Ezra Miller:

“We’ve heard a bit of a tug of war going on between Warner Bros. and Sony, which would like the same two directors for one of its big franchise movies… If Warner Bros. wanted them for The Flash, and Sony wanted them for a Ghostbusters movie, which would Lord and Miller do?”

It’s unknown if the duo will have time to do The Flash but their comedic film making and writing would be something of fresh air in the ultra serious DC films to date. Just need to get Brad Bird or Alfonso Cuaron to helm Green Lantern and you will be golden DC!
