Aug 8, 2016

The Wrap has word that Warner Bros. is now in active development on Man of Steel 2, without revealing too many details beyond it being a priority to get the character right for fans.

It was previously mentioned that Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller had been offered the directing gig on the film, after having attempted to make his own incarnation of the Justice League years ago. There had also been rumblings of him getting involved with Green Lantern Corps.

Miller mentioned  to Yahoo! back in October, he was “definitely interested” in making Man of Steel 2, this was just after ruling himself out of the running to Digital Spy.

“I’m definitely interested [in making ‘Man of Steel 2′],” Miller told us.

“I was going to do a Justice League until an Australian government rebate didn’t go through. They were very indecisive and we were up against the writer’s strike, and it fell through.”

“I’ve always been interested in mythology,” Miller added ,“and I think the superhero myth and the superhero stories are basically Greek and Roman mythology revisited in the modern day, so that’s always very interesting. Those things are always in the mix.”

At this time it’s unknown if they’ll have Zack Snyder return to make the sequel or will have another director come in like Miller or Suicide Sqaud‘s David Ayer. Ayer recently mentioning a desire to tackle a Superman movie.
