Two new updates have been given on the current project from Wes Anderson, currently filming in France. One for cast and one for crew.
The Hollywood Reporter provided the exclusive casting of Henry Winkler. Winkler joins a cast filled with the usual Anderson alums, such as Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Adrian Brody and Bob Balaban. However, the cast includes newcomers (to Anderson) Benicio Del Toro and Timothee Chalamet.
HN Entertainment reported a new crew addition: veteran stuntman Dominique Fouassier as the film’s stunt coordinator. His credits include ‘Ronin,’ ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout,’ ‘3 Days to Kill,’ ‘Colombiana,’ and Michael Bay’s ‘6 Underground.’
The rest of the movie’s production team includes many people who have previously worked with Anderson:
• Cinematographer Robert Yeoman has an incredible seven movie resume with Anderson: ‘Bottle Rocket,’ ‘Rushmore,’ ‘The Royal Tenenbaums,’ ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou,’ ‘The Darjeeling Limited,’ ‘Moonrise Kingdom,’ and ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel.’
• Production designer Adam Stockhausen has done ‘Moonrise Kingdom,’ ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Isle of Dogs.’
• Costume designer Milena Canonero (four-time Oscar-winner) has done ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou,’ ‘The Darjeeling Limited,’ and ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’.
There is also a high chance that Alexandre Desplat (‘Fantastic Mr. Fox,’ ‘Moonrise Kingdom,’ ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel,’ ‘Isle of Dogs’) will compose the film’s score.
Plot details are being kept under the printing press, but it is known to be set in the 20th century at the Paris bureau of an American newspaper and threads three storylines. Indian Paintbrush is backing the project.
The film could be ready for an awards-friendly fall release as Fox Searchlight will most likely gain the distribution rights. Searchlight has released the last couple of films made by Wes Anderson.
