Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios are overseeing a new anthology series for the Disney+ streaming service. Rather than the usual live-action, this show will be an animation installment, and non-canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now, it will be non-canon due to the nature of the series itself:
“The series will provide stories that explore how the Marvel Cinematic Universe might have unfolded if key moments in its history had not occurred as they did in recognized canon.”
The anthology would be like the comic book series of the same name, with each episode tackling a different premise.
Thanks to the lower commitment, main actors from the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe movies could possibly reprise their roles for the series. However, there is no confirmation as of now.
Also, it is unclear if they will use any other storylines from the comics for inspiration. We also don’t know who has been brought onboard the series.
The Disney+ streaming service will launch later this year.
