’12 Years A Slave’ Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong’o In Talks To Star in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’
Today, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o has entered talks to co-star in Marvel’s upcoming Black Panther solo film. Her character is unknown but is expected to be the love interested opposite star Chadwick Boseman. Of course this could be a totally originally character given in the comics Black Panther marries X-Man Storm who is unfortunately owned by FOX. The story will follow Prince T’Challas rise to king after the death of King T’Chaka in Captain America: Civil War.
Nyong’o is best known for her Oscar winning performance in 12 Years a Slave. She also has her foot in Disney’s door by providing the voice for Maz in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Mother Wolf in this years The Jungle Book. Sher was also rumored to played Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok but the role eventually went to Tessa Thompson. Creed and Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler will co-write and direct the film with Kevin Feige producing.
