It’s been twenty years since the visually groundbreaking film The Fifth Element graced the big screen and in honor of that anniversary, there was a special screening in Hollywood celebrating the film and its director Luc Beeson.
Several of the stars of the film were on-hand to celebrate with the director as well as have a Q and A with the fans who came out to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery to watch the film. In attendance was director Luc Beeson, whose new film Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets opens this week.
Joining Beeson was the Fifth Element herself Leeloo aka Milla Jovovich. The actress recently starred in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and recently completed filming the Rob Reiner political drama Shock and Awe.
Also in attendance was actor Chris Tucker who gave the most memorable performance in the film as bombastic host Ruby Rhod in the 1997 film. Tucker recently starred in the Ang Lee drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. He is rumored to be reprising his roles in the sequels to the comedy Friday and the action comedy Rush Hour.
The Fifth Element is one of those rare films that successfully combines science fiction, action and comedy together in a way that you are both entertained by the story, but also treated to stunning visuals and special effects. In honor of the film’s 20th anniversary, The Fifth Element has been released in a 4K Ultra HD edition now available.
