Rumor: First Plot Details For James Gunn’s ‘The Suicide Squad’

Mar 9, 2019

While James Gunn is still a few months out from rolling the cameras, Discussing Film has revealed the first possible plot details.

It is said to follow the Suicide Squad as they infiltrate Onslaught’s headquarters, a fortress called Jotunheim, which is located in the country of Qurac.

Take this with a grain of salt, as Gunn is still tweaking his script, but with production close on the horizon, this is likely what we’ll end up seeing. We’ve also heard that Gunn really wants to embrace the military aspect of John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad run, which features Onslaught as villains (but under a different, less politically correct, term). DF backs this up as well. Not only that, but Killer Frost is rumored to be joining the team alongside King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, and Ratcatcher. A character a lot of people have been wanting to see, Deathstroke, was originally in Gavin O’Connor’s script for the movie too.

James Gunn is writing and directing ‘The Suicide Squad.’ Idris Elba and Margot Robbie are tentatively attached to star. The pic will hit theaters in August 2021.
