Jun 18, 2022

The GWW And POP! Culture Corner recently sat down with actor, and singer A Martinez. Known for his roles in Longmire, Powwow Highway, and Cowboy Bepop. We discussed what it was like to be able to work with the creative mind of Micahel Bay on the filmmaker’s latest movie, Ambulance.

When an ambulance is hijacked by two brothers after a bank robbery went wrong. They must make an escape through Los Angeles in an AMBULANCE. When asked about working with Michael Bay, Martinez said that it was like watching a kid in a candy shop. The energy, and creativity of Bay, and his famously custom-made RED camera.

Directed by Michael Bay. The action maestro behind high-octane films such as Transformers and Armageddon delivers an“over-the-top thrill ride” (Nick Schager, The Daily Beast) featuring Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and EizaGonzález.

Ambulance is being touted as “Bay’s best”(David Sims, The Atlantic). Now packed with never-before-seen bonus content including six behind-the-scenes featurettes.

A High Octane Thrill Ride

In this action thriller directed by Michael Bay. Veteran Will Sharp (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Candyman), desperate for money, turns to his adoptive brother Danny (Jake Gyllenhaal) for help. A career criminal, Danny instead offers him a huge score. When their heist goes sideways. The desperate brothers hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop and paramedic(EizaGonzález, Fast and Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw) onboard.

Will and Danny must evade a city-wide law enforcement response (led by Garret Dillahunt’s Character), keep their hostages alive, and somehow try not to kill each other, all while executing the most insane escape LA has ever had seen.

Ambulance is one of the best films of the year. Feeling more like an indy film, but with huge heart and anxiety, this film delivers at every turn. [7.7/10]
