According to IndieWire, EP Fred Seibert is working on an animated version of a classic video game property. Seibert’s production company Frederator Studios is developing what he’s called a “super violent”  take on an “unnamed” project based on “one of the most world-famous video games of the last 30 years”. Many outlets are speculating, based on the fact that his production company has the adaptation rights, that the property is the classic Konami video game Castlevania.

The original game came out on 1986 and tells the story of vampire hunter Simon Belmont and his quest to kill Dracula. The game was successful and sparked several sequels, the latest being Lord of Shadows in 2015. Frederator Studios has owned the rights for 12 years so there is an opportunity for them to devote their time and energy into making this series and making it successful.
