Variety has reported that ‘Patrick Melrose’ and ‘His Dark Materials’ actress Morfydd Clark will play a younger version of the Lady of Light, in Amazon’s upcoming ‘Lord of The Rings’ show!

Galadriel was the “Lady” of the woods of Lothlórien, which she ruled with Celeborn her husband. She was one of the greatest of the Elves in Middle-earth, surpassing nearly all others in beauty, knowledge, and power. She bore Nenya, one of the three Elven rings of power.

The ‘Lord of the Rings’ series is being developed by the writing team of JD Payne and Patrick McKay. Additionally, ‘Game of Thrones’ alum Bryan Cogman has signed on as a consulting producer and writer on the project, with J.A. Bayona set to direct multiple episodes. Amazon gave the series a two-season order when it was first announced. The cast includes Joseph Mawle, who’ll play the show’s villain Oren, Markella Kavenagh, who’ll play Tyra, as well as Maxim Baldry and Ema Horvath, in unknown roles. Amazon has already ordered a second season of the show, with JD Payne and Patrick McKay writing the story.
