According to Variety, Amber Heard is in talks to join the cast of Justice League as Mera, the love interest of Aquaman.
Mera first appeared in Aquaman #11 and was created by Jack Miller and Nick Cardy. Mera is the queen of Atlantis and wife of DC Superhero Aquaman.
According to the same report, Heard will not only play the Queen in the Justice League film but will also reprise her role in the Aquaman standalone film.
Heard had quite the busy year after starring in “Magic Mike XXL”, The “Danish Girl” and “The Adderall Diaries” in 2015.
The new casting rumors are just building anticipation for the upcoming DC film slate. Batman V. Superman is only two months away, Justice League will begin in April with a Nov. 17th, 2017 release date, and Aquaman is set to hit the big screen on July 27th, 2018.
As we begin to hear more rumors and news involving Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg, it just makes me that much more anxious to finally see the DC universe played out properly on the big screen.
