‘American Gods’ Renewed For Season 3; Charles “Chic” Eglee (‘The Shield’) Takes Over as Showrunner

Starz has already greenlit a third season of ‘American Gods,’ not even a full week after the second season’s premiere. However, Charles “Chic” Eglee will be the showrunner for this season, and not Jesse Alexander. Bryan Fuller and Michael Green were co-showrunners of the first season.

Eglee’s resume includes ‘St. Elsewhere,’ ‘The Shield,’ ‘Dexter’,’ The Walking Dead,’ and ‘Hemlock Grove.’ He was a co-creator and writer of the shows ‘The Byrds of Paradise,’ ‘Murder One,’ and ‘Dark Angel.’

Neil Gaiman, executive producer and author of the novel of the same name, had this to say about Eglee on Twitter:

Moreover, the cast comprises of Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Orlando Jones, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Mousa Kraish, Omid Abtahi, and Demore Barnes. Also appearing in season two are: Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, Sakina Jaffrey, Dean Winters, Devery Jacobs, and Kahyun Kim.
