Bad Robot in Talks to Develop ‘Justice League Dark’ Films & Television Shows

Jan 22, 2020

A new spark of life seems to have been ignited for fans of ‘Justice League Dark!’

Deadline reports that J.J. Abrams’ company Bad Robots is now in talks to exclusively develop new ‘Justice League Dark’ projects, for both film and television, at Warner Brothers. The site notes that details on the matter remain limited for now as the deal is still ‘nascent‘ and no decisions have been made yet on what specific projects and characters will be developed out of DC’s spinoff occult and supernatural-laden franchise. However Deadline adds that Bad Robot’s Head of Motion Pictures Hannah Minghella and Head of Television Ben Stephenson will begin meeting with talent reps and their screenwriting clients in the near future on which characters might get their own projects.

Moreover, it still remains to be seen whether Abrams himself will direct, or even write, any of the ‘Justice League Dark’ films that Bad Robot will develop. For now though, the site has confirmed that Minghella will work with Warner Bros. President of DC-based Film Production Walter Hamada on developing ‘Justice League Dark’ feature films, while Stephenson will work respectively with the Warner Bros. Television Group including President & Chief Content Officer Peter Roth, President Brett Paul and President Susan Rovner.

Personally speaking, I hope we finally get to see Zatanna Zatara on the big screen! It’s time for DC Comics’ finest magician to make her debut to the masses. Thankfully, one would assume she will wind up being one of the characters that has a project nab a greenlight soon, as she happens to be one of the most prominent characters among the ranks of ‘Justice League Dark’ alongside John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, and Swamp Thing.
