Christopher Nolan’s untitled ‘Event Film’ now has John David Washington as the first cast member to sign on. There no character details, or plot details. Although, it will be a massive, innovative, action blockbuster, which will again be shown in Imax.
Washington is the son of Denzel Washington, and was in the Academy Award winning ‘BlacKkKlansman,’ from Spike Lee. He was also in last year’s ‘The Old Man & the Gun,’ from David Lowery. He has a series regular role in HBO’s ‘Ballers’ which will be shooting its fifth season starting this April.
As for fake news, the film will be not be a romantic thriller in the vein of Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘North By Northwest’ and Nolan’s ‘Inception.’
However, it is still unclear whether or not there is truth to the previous crew announcements of cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema (‘Interstellar,’ ‘Dunkirk’) and production designer Nathan Crowley (‘Dunkirk,’ ‘First Man’).
Further, filming could begin this June.
Warner Bros. will release the film on July 17, 2020.
