Could The Disney/Fox Acquisition Lead To New Live-Action ‘Dragon Ball ‘ Movies and What Could That Look Like?

Aug 12, 2018

As I said before, the Dragon Ball universe could be ripe for a blank slate development to become an expansive cinematic universe, one of the few of the manga/anime adaptations you can say that about. Being a large mix of superhero, fantasy, martial arts, and science fiction genres all blended together into it’s own world. It could give the right filmmakers the canvas to create their own massive franchise.

I’d love to see directors such as George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road),  Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), Justin Lin (Star Trek: Beyond), Brad Bird (Incredibles 1-2, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol), Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class, Kick-Ass, Kingsman 1-2), Anna Boden/Ryan Fleck (Captain Marvel),  Rian Johnson (Looper, Star Trek: The Last Jedi), The Wachowskis (Matrix, Speed Racer). and James Wan (Aquaman) to be considered for it. Although, they’re just suggestions.

I’ve collected a whole bunch of Dragon Ball fan concept art most if it looks high-end and really gives the impression what a live-action Dragon Ball universe could look like. Of course, I’d love to see Weta Workshop take a crack and developing the look for the movies.

I hope Disney finds a way to consider making new movies and give fans the kind of live-action cinematic experience they were hoping to get back in 2009 with Dragonball Evolution. There is a massive audience for this material if done properly.
