Wizord and Ruby Stitch could be Margaret’s parents according to Candace’s tarot cards, but we don’t find the answer in this issue. We are given more questions as to what is the Hole World, what is Wizords true intentions and how has Margaret created this secret empire under Wizord nose.
This issue sets up the new story arch by having the questions from issue #15 and expands upon it with no explanations. The use of Jacques as a catalyst to keep the mystery of Hole World and the connection with Wizord is an effective plot device. As the issue goes on we see a lot of growth from Wizord and Ruby to try and fit in the modern world.
As we have come to expect from Soule and Browne, this is solid work for them. They used the break from the last issue to this one to refine the story and make the art match the growth of it. Browne delivers his normal standard for the series and allows the crazy insane ideas to flow freely with little hindrance. Soule uses this to his advantage as we see some crazy things come to life.
Overall the issue is solid. Not answering the burning questions right away does leave you desperate and annoyed. Yet, you are going to come back to finally get the answer that Margert and Ruby are looking for.
