Daredevil Takes Place After The Avengers “Battle of New York”

Feb 26, 2015

Many have wondered when on the timeline will Netflix upcoming Daredevil series take place on the MCU timeline. Will it be before The Avengers even come together? Or maybe after the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? Well, Empire Magazine (via Comic Book Movie) caught up with Marvel Television executive Emma Fleischer who confirms that the show follows the events of the “Battle of New York” during The Avengers:  “We are still part of the Marvel Universe, but we are not explicitly in that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. world. We’re in our own corner. So the aliens came down and ruined the city, and this is the story of Hell’s Kitchen’s rebuild.” Does this mean we can possibly see Daredevil show up in Captain America: Civil War? Many agree himself along with The Punisher has some of the coolest scenes fighting alongside Captain America and the resistance. When asked star Charlie Cox admits he wouldn’t deny an invite but admits Daredevil isn’t really an Avenger. “in this show, Daredevil feels special, like a big thing, not an everyday occurrence. It’s not like he’s one of that lot…” He does admit though the show will have some minor easter eggs hinting to the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe “a couple of very casual Easter egg reference to other superheroes.”
