Today, the guys over at That Hashtag Show dropped a scoop on the upcoming villain in DC Comics upcoming Titans live-action tv series. According to their report Acolyte will be the main baddie in the upcoming show and not fan-favorite Slade Wilson/Deathstroke (played by Manu Bennett on Arrow). In the comics Acolyte was a full blue demon looking meta human first appearing in 1999’s Young Justice:
The Acolyte – Male. African-American 40-50. Confident. The villain of our story. He is after Rachel and her powers, trying to kidnap her after he murders her mother.
Rachel Roth aka Raven seems to be the main character of this story. After her “adopted” mother is killed at the hands of Acolyte she must seek out the Titans. Raven’s birth parents include her human mother and demonic father Trigon. A casting call also went out for her adopted mother Angela:
Angela – Female 40-50. Rachel’s (adoptive) mom. She gets killed in an attempt to kidnap Rachel.
Casting is almost complete however the series has yet to find their Beast Boy. So far they have cast Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire and Teagan Croft as Raven.
Lastly, we at Omega Underground had learned that filming is expected to begin by the end of September. So expected Beast Boy and Acolyte cast in the coming weeks.
