Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s Awful Pre-order Program Cancelled

Oct 2, 2015

Not long ago I wrote about the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided “Augment  Your Pre-order” scheme and I really was not a big fan. For me it’s just another example of how we are being nickel and dimed every game release.

Thankfully today I get to come back with some great news! It seems that a lot of people gave Square Enix some pretty negative feedback when they announced the pre-order program and a tide of internet negativity has actually resulted in some good today with the cancellation of the pre-order program.

Instead there are new pre-order incentive terms making all previous content available to everyone who pre-orders or buys the day 1 edition of the game.

Sure the content is still not in the game for other buyers - something I’ll never get behind - but at least Square Enix has listened.

What did you think of the augment your game idea? Did you get in touch with Square Enix? Let us know in the comments!
