It was recently announced that District 9 director Neill Blomkamp and Terminator 6 screenwriter Justin Rhodes would be moving forward a director sequel to the 1987 film RoboCop titled RoboCop Returns.
Working from an existing script crafted by franchise creators.
There was an assumption that Blomkamp would try to get original actors Peter Weller and Nancy Allen back to reprise their roles. Well, today, Neill seemingly confirmed he wants Weller to return via Twitter.

Neill is expected to shoot his next film Greenland starring Chris Evans from October-November in Toronto. This could suggest that RoboCop Returns won’t be taking place anytime soon.
Production and release dates are currently unknown.
