Disney’s Live-Action ‘Pinocchio’ Looking To Start Filming This Fall In The UK

Mar 10, 2018

It was recently reported that Paddington director Paul King will helm Disney’s live-action Pinocchio movie. Jack Throne (National Treasure) is currently doing rewrites on a script from Chris Weitz (Cinderella, Rogue One, About a Boy).

Omega Underground has learned that Disney aims to get filming going by this fall (depending on a finished script) and there is a solid sign that filming will be taking place in the United Kingdom.

The Paddington films have been very well received so there is an expectation King could make something very special here. King was also in talks to direct the Willy Wonka prequel for Warner Bros.

Considering the Italian roots to the story we’d hope they film in Italy as well, but we’re not holding our breath. These projects have been primarily shooting in England. Examples include Beauty and The Beast, Dumbo, Aladdin, and it’s expected that The Little Mermaid and Sword In The Stone will as well.

Disney slated a massive lineup of release dates but it remains to be seen where Pinocchio places on that list.
