Well, I certainly wasn’t expecting a Holiday Special this year, but the folks at Titan Comics got us covered! The Thirteenth Doctor, Yaz, Ryan, and Graham come together for a festive adventure to whisk us into the holiday season. I’m sitting here with my lovely hot cup of Chai Latte, my Gingerbread candle is open, and I’m curled up in my blanket, ready for a jolly, holiday romp.

Of course not. What was I thinking? There is always a twist in Doctor Who that takes something comforting, and turns it into something that will make your skin crawl. And this is only part one… lovely!

But, I’m not going to spoil what happens here! Yes, there is a cameo by Santa… sort of, but that’s as far as I’m going! To be fair, I can’t describe what’s happening quite yet, so how about you join the adventure, and read the comic along with me? We can form a club!

The art, as always, is incredible. It captures the characters without being too overly detailed, which is nice to see sometimes. I have the awful habit of adding too many details and, well, it’s horrific! So kudos to the artists that can capture likenesses with not many details. The colors compliment the art style as well, making the drawings pop off the page. I really must commend Titan Comics for pairing the right colorists with illustrators.

The writing is fabulous. Another Doctor Who story that could be on the screen!

Although, I hate waiting. The Time Lords’ curse. This is only part one, and the story is just beginning.
