Donald Glover bringing Deadpool animated series to FXX

May 10, 2017

As if the Atlanta star doesn’t have enough to do with getting ready for the second season of his series, starring as Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo stand alone film and his music, Donald Glover is taking on another project that looks to be exciting to comic book fans.

It was announced today that Donald Glover and his brother Stephen Glover will write, executive produce and serve as showrunners for a new animated series for FXX based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool. The ten episode series that will launch on the network in 2018 will also feature Marvel’s Jeph Loeb as Executive Producer. According to reports, the Marvel team are huge fans of the FX series Archer and approached the network with the idea of an animated series based on the adventures of the Merc with a Mouth.

FX, who already has a relationship with Glover, went to the star with the project. A writer’s room has been setup in London where Glover is currently filming the Han Solo spinoff film. No voice cast has been announced, but I will bring you any new information as this story develops.
