‘Doom Patrol’: Mark Sheppard Teases Return to Season 2 of DC Universe Series

Feb 26, 2020

‘Supernatural’ actor Mark Sheppard has recently teased his return to the role of Willoughby Kipling on season 2 of DC Universe’s ‘Doom Patrol.’

Mark made this post on his Instagram yesterday:

‘Supernatural’ fans thought that this might mean that Mark Sheppard will make one final appearance in the series as Crowley, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Matt Bomer, the actor that plays Negative Man/Larry on ‘Doom Patrol,’ replied with the following:

“I recognize that trailer! Xo”

Something else worth noting is that Mark is wearing the same costume that his character, Willoughby Kipling, was wearing in the series. The Instagram post also is geotagged with “Atlanta, Georgia,” which is where production on ‘Doom Patrol’ takes place.

It is currently unknown when Kipling will appear in the second season of the series, but we’re excited to see him interact with the Doom Patrol again soon!

The series follows the unlikely heroes of the eponymous team who all received their powers through tragic circumstances and are generally shunned by society. The season 2 cast consists of returning members Diane Guerrero (Crazy Jane), April Bowlby (Rita Farr), Joivan Wade (Vic Stone), Matt Bomer (Larry Trainor), Brendan Fraser (Cliff Steele), and Timothy Dalton (Niles Caulder), as well as newcomers Abigail Shapiro (Dorothy Spinner) and Karen Obilom (Roni Evers).

Jeremy Carver (‘Supernatural,’ ‘Prodigal Son’) serves as creator and showrunner.

There is no premiere date for ‘Doom Patrol’ season 2 yet, but it looks like the second season will premiere this summer, possibly late June.
