Angry Birds 3 Movie Release Details

TheGWW.com has obtained information that an Angry Birds 3 movie is currently in development at Sony, with an expected production window of 2021-2022.

It appears the Angry Birds Movie 3 will have some recurring cast members including Jason Sudeikis, (Red), Josh Gad, (Chuck), Danny McBride, (Bomb), Maya Rudolph, (Matilda), Bill Hader, (King Leonard Mudbeard) and Peter Dinklage, (Ethan “Mighty” Eagle).

The Plot

Like any sequel, Angry Birds Movie 3 will most likely pick up from where the last movie left off. At the end of Angry Birds 2, there are several plot lines the third installment could follow.

Red is a changed man, focusing less on himself and sharing the credit with the rest of the team. Who knows, maybe this will even open up a relationship with Silver?

Another possible theme may include the Eggs. Having finally hatched they might be featured as new characters in The Angry Birds Movie 3. Perhaps we’ll even see more of the pythons?

Lastly, the reconciliation and marriage of Ethan “The Mighty Eagle” and Zeta might be more prominently featured in the upcoming movie as well.

The First Angry Birds Movie Was a Surprise Hit

The Angry Birds Movie released to mixed reviews in 2016, but was a surprise hit at the box-office grossing over $350 million worldwide on a budget of just $73 million.  It became the fourth highest grossing film of all time behind Warcraft (2016), Detective Pikachu (2019), and Rampage (2018).

Angry Birds 2: Better Reviews – But Fell Short at the Box Office

In contrast, Angry Birds 2 was released in the United States on August 13, 2019 and grossed $154 million worldwide. At the time of release, it was ranked as the best reviewed film based on a video game by Rotten Tomatoes.
