EXCLUSIVE: Character Breakdowns For Apple’s ‘Little America’ 1×07

Exclusive: We at GWW have gotten some details on the seventh episode of the upcoming Apple TV+ show ‘Little America.’ The immigration anthology series is from Kumail Nanjiani & Emily V. Gordon (‘The Big Sick’), Alan Yang (‘Master of None’) and Lee Eisenberg (‘The Office’). Eisenberg is also the showrunner.

Moreover, the series has a half-hour format, and the season will be eight episodes total.

The premise is below:

“Apple’s ‘Little America’ is based on the true stories included in the Epic Magazine feature of the same name, and will go beyond the headlines to look at the funny, romantic, heartfelt, inspiring and surprising stories of immigrants in America at a time when they are more relevant than ever.”

‘Dream “AI”’ is the current title of episode seven, while Tze Chun (‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Gotham’) serves as both writer and director. Filming will begin May 10th and wrap May 24th in New Jersey and Florida.

Bo

“Character portrayed is 16, Male, Chinese American. Ai’s son. A grunge-nerd who loves X-Men and Wong Kar Wai films. He loves his mom but feels completely overwhelmed by her constant attention and neediness. He craves independence. Primarily speaks English but is also fluent in Cantonese or Mandarin. HEAVILY FEATURED. SEEKING ACTORS 18+. MUST BE FULLY AVAILABLE 5/13-5/24.  WILL BE SHOOTING IN NJ and on a CRUISE SHIP OFF THE COAST OF FLORIDA”

Cheng

“Character portrayed is 12, Female, Chinese American. Ai’s daughter. Artsy and sweet, she is a good kid who respects and loves her mom but she also wants to spend time with her friends. She is thrilled and excited to go on the cruise but makes it clear in as nice a way as possible that she wants to do some things on her own. Primarily speaks English but is also fluent in Cantonese or Mandarin. HEAVILY FEATURED. MUST BE FULLY AVAILABLE 5/13-5/24.  WILL BE SHOOTING IN NJ and on a CRUISE SHIP OFF THE COAST OF FLORIDA.”

“After trying every year to win the raffle at the annual Vacation Expo, Ai finally wins a vacation – a cruise on The Grand Americana, a gleaming cruise ship with activities galore. Ai’s hopes and dream to spend family time with her two children are crushed when it becomes clear very quickly that her kids would rather be with their friends…”

Meanwhile, ‘Little America’ does not have a premiere date yet. Apple’s streaming service Apple TV+ will launch this fall.
