Exclusive: The GWW has obtained new details on Superboy in the second season of DC’s ‘Titans.’
Ben is conflicted by his past, which includes acts of great violence and great good. Raised in a strict environment where he had no freedom, he’s finally out on his own for the first time and feels the world is his oyster. But his cockiness and self assuredness mask the insecurities of a young man who’s searching for his true purpose.
“Ben” is the codename that Superboy was cast under, not the name he will be using in the show.
The “strict environment” part refers to CADMUS Labs, the place we see Superboy escape from in the finale of the first season of ‘Titans.’ The rest of this refers to his personality, which seems very close to the comics, specifically Geoff Johns’ Teen Titans run and the animated series ‘Young Justice.’ The “conflicted by his past” part likely refers to CADMUS using him to do their dirty work, like in the New 52 Teen Titans run.
‘Titans’ hails from Geoff Johns and Greg Walker and stars Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, and Ryan Potter. Season two will premiere this fall.
