Exclusive: ‘Bloon Moon,’ the upcoming third film from Ana Lily Amirpour, will begin filming May 13th and wrap June 28th in New Orleans. She serves as both writer and director on the film.
Amirpour previously made ‘A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night’ and ‘The Bad Batch.’ As for television, she did one episode for both FX’s ‘Legion’ and Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock.’ This year, she has the CBS All Access reboot ‘The Twilight Zone,’ with her episode airing April 18th, and the pilot of USA’s ‘Briarpatch.’
Moreover, the premise is below:
“A mind-bending adventure set in the swampy neon-lit streets of New Orleans, and inspired by fantasy-adventure movies of the 1980s and ’90s. At its center is a girl with strange and dangerous abilities who escapes from a mental asylum and rejoins the chaos of modern-day civilization, on the hedonistic streets of the French Quarter.”
Further, the cast so far comprises of Kate Hudson, Craig Robinson, and Zac Efron.
Focus Features has not set a release date for the film as of now.
