The WPM03 is an excellent walking pad for office-goers. It’s smooth, lightweight, and highly functional. After testing a two other walking pads, I’m pretty confident in recommending the WMP03 to most users. It comes in at $499.99 but I have seen it on sale for as low as $349.99, including at the time of writing.

FlexiSpot is having their 9th anniversary sale, with up to 65% off on many items!

Overview

The FlexiSpot WPM03 is an auto-incline walking treadmill. Its prominent feature is an auto incline function that’s all about making your workouts more dynamic without you having to fuss with manual adjustments. I’ve literally seen people buy non-inclining treadmills and place books underneath them! The incline goes from 0 to 9 levels, which is in line with commercial treadmills one would find in a gym. At level 9, the grade is equivalent to 12%. That will help you work your quads! It’s also built to accommodate a good range of users, given its 275 lbs capacity, and for those who like to have some background music, it includes Bluetooth MP3 capabilities.

The WPM03 is light and easy to move, which is fantastic for home setups where flexibility is key. Trust me, you won’t be using it 8 hours a day. You’ll want to move your chair under your desk from time to time. Unless, of course, you have an area dedicated for the treadmill. Performance-wise, I’m impressed with the smoothness of the belt – no hitching at any speed, making for a consistently comfortable walk. The display is a win too, with metrics like time and distance being easy to read, and I appreciate how quickly the motor ramps up when you start a session.

I do wish, however, the controller had a preset functionality, so you could simply hit a button to jump to my preferred walking speed and incline level.

How I use It

My goal is to take 20,000 steps a day. Granted, I’ll get some of those steps around the house and at the gym. But the bulk would have to come from dedicated walking. I can’t, however, always take walks outdoors. That’s why I was seeking a solution like this. An indoor walking pad that would enable me to gain steps while working. I’ll often set it to around 3.5 to 4 mph with a 1 to 2 incline level for about 30 minutes at a time. My heart rate stays low (95-105 BMP). It’s perfect while I’m watching a video, reading an article, or participating in a webinar. When I’m working and need to type, I’ll slow it down to about 2 to 2.2 mph, which works perfectly.

While I appreciate the 12% maximum incline, I do not use it much. I find it elevates my heart rate too much while I’m working. I have played around with it during my “rest days” – meaning the days I do not go to the gym. But since I work my entire body with weights, a rower, and a bicycle at the gym, I like the idea of focusing purely on active movement rather than muscle fatigue or high intensity cardio work.

I find myself lifting the treadmill up and rolling it to other parts of my office so its out of my way when I need to sit down. if there is one change I’d recommend it would be to position the handle such that there is more clearance for a user’s fingers. I’ve learned to carefully lower the treadmill to avoid pinching my knuckles. See the image below.

Who is this For?

  • Individuals with home offices or limited space: If you’re like me and need a treadmill that doesn’t permanently occupy a large footprint, the WPM03 is a great fit. It’s described as lightweight and easy to move, with wheels that allow you to lift it up, roll it out of the way, and then bring it back when you’re ready for your next session. This makes it ideal for quick storage and retrieval in a dynamic workspace.
  • People looking to seamlessly integrate physical activity into their workday: If your goal is to boost your daily step count or get your heart rate up in short, convenient bursts without disrupting your work flow, this treadmill excels. I personally use it for 30-minute sessions at speeds of 3.5 to 4 mph with a 1 to 2 incline to “bust out some steps” and help achieve a 20,000 steps a day goal. It’s perfect for breaking up periods of sitting, even for those who exercise outside of using the walking pad.
