Today, at San Diego Comic-Con it was announced by Marvel Television that Freeform’s superhero drama Cloak & Dagger has been renewed for a second season. Stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Emma Lahana and Ally Maki alongside exec producers Joe Pokaski (who serves as showrunner) and Jeph Loeb are all set to return. Cloak & Dagger has been a surprise hit with the season premiere ranking at Freeform’s #1 show for more than two years with 4.4 million viewers. Not to mention the streaming service Hulu offering the series a day later.
The series is indeed set firmly within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as there has been multiple references to the Netflix shows throughout the first season. As well as seedy corporation Roxxon being one of the shows main antagonist. Now let’s see if the show crossover’s with Hulu’s The Runaways as the two groups of teenagers have often crossed paths in the comics.
