Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 Demo is Out for PS+ Members

May 2, 2017

If you like hard thrashing metal, anime fighting games, and have a Playstation Plus account, you’re in luck.  Starting now until May 24th, PS+ users can get their hands on the new Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 demo.  If you’re a fan of the series, this is great news, and it’s even better news for fence sitters.  Although the demo only allows access to arcade mode, the demo gives you the game’s full roster.  We’re looking at 25 characters.  That’s virtually unheard of in most fighting game demos.

And if you find the game visually appealing, but you don’t know the first thing in stringing a combo, that’s okay too.  The demo lends you a tutorial mode, so you’ll be stringing combos and air juggles like Daigo in no time.  I’ll admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of Guilty Gear growing up, but even this sounds too good to pass up.  I played once at a downtown arcade during high school.  My first time playing Guilty Gear, and I was going up against a veteran attending UT at the time.  It never felt like the match started, because he one-hit killed me before I could even move.  After that, I let go of the joystick and walked away.  I didn’t even finish my match.

From the looks of it, the game will only be available exclusively on PS3 and PS4, the home for anime fighters.  Sorry XBONE fans.  However, a physical disc release will only be available on PS4.  The game also acts as an expansion to Xrd Revelator, so if you have that version, you’ only pay $20.  Otherwise, the game is still only $40 at full retail.   The full version will be available May 26th, so start working on those combos now.

Just look at those gorgeous animations!
