‘Halo’ TV Series Taps Director Otto Bathurst (‘Black Mirror,’ ‘Peaky Blinders’); Season is Now 9 Episodes

Feb 21, 2019

Showtime’s ‘Halo’ television series has found its replacement director in Otto Bathurst. He will direct multiple episodes and executive produce the video game adaptation. The season order also went from 10 episodes to 9, just one less.

Bathurst recently directed the gazillionth remake of ‘Robin Hood.’ But, in other (better) credits, he did the pilot of ‘Black Mirror,’ as well as several episodes of ‘Peaky Blinders.’ He also helmed two episodes of the upcoming ‘His Dark Materials.’

The ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ director Rupert Everett was originally on board. However, he had to depart due to “changes to the production schedule.”

Kyle Killen will serve as showrunner and executive producer. At this point, the series will most likely not air this year.
