Jai Courtney Returning To The Role Of Captain Boomerang In ‘The Suicide Squad’

Mar 29, 2019

It has been reported that James Gunn’s project “The Suicide Squad” would be a total reboot from the first film by David Ayer in 2016. Then there were reports that Idris Elba would replace Will Smith as Deadshot in the film. Shortly after that, it was also reported that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn would also return for the movie, and Viola Davis was also likely to return. Now, straight from Jai Courtney himself, he confirms that he will be returning to the character.

“We’re getting ready to shoot in a few months’ time. There’s not much else I can reveal about it but, yeah, you’ll be seeing Boomerang back for sure.”

It is certainly a surprise to everyone as it was expected that only Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Amanda Waller were returning, but now a fan favorite is back as well.

“The Suicide Squad” will be directed by James Gunn, who also write the script. He was courted by Warner Bros after he was let go from “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3”, and now the roster for “The Suicide Squad” is starting to fill. The movie will go into production beginning in September in Atlanta and is slated to release on August 6th, 2021.
