James Wan’s ‘Malignant’ Adds Mckenna Grace to Cast

Mar 6, 2020

‘Malignant,’ New Line’s upcoming secret horror film from director James Wan (‘The Conjuring,’ ‘Aquaman’), now has Mckenna Grace onboard the cast.

Grace will be reuniting with Wan, after they collaborated on New Line’s ‘Annabelle Comes Home,’ from director Gary Dauberman. She was recently in Disney’s ‘Captain Marvel,’ Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,’ and Amazon’s ‘Troop Zero.’ Next, she will be voicing young Daphne in Warner Bros. Animation’s ‘Scoob!’ and appear in Sony’s ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife,’ both releasing this summer.

Moreover, the other cast members include Jake Abel, Maddie Hasson, Jacqueline McKenzie, Annabelle Wallis, Michole Briana White, George Young, and Ingrid Bisu. However, Bisu does more than star in the film, as she also crafted the story with Wan.

Also, the screenplay is from Akela Cooper (‘American Horror Story,’ ‘Luke Cage’) and JT Petty, who wrote the ‘Outlast’ video-games.

Additionally, back on August 2nd, Wan gave some insight on this new project on Instagram:

“I’m super excited to go back to my indie roots with this hard-R thriller. An original horror idea (not a reboot/remake or anything based on existing IP) with old school, practical effects and no giant, blue screen sets.”

Meanwhile, the film is currently in post-production.

‘Malignant’ will release August 14, 2020.
