James Wan’s ‘Silvercup’ Adds Maddie Hasson to Cast in Key Role

‘Silvercup,’ New Line’s upcoming secret horror film from director James Wan (‘The Conjuring,’ ‘Aquaman’), now has Maddie Hasson onboard the cast in a key role. However, her character, as well as the plot, is under wraps.

Hasson currently leads the Youtube Premium series ‘Impulse,’ which will premiere its second season on October 16th. She also recurred in the first season of the Audience Network series ‘Mr. Mercedes.’ Next, she will appear in Marc Meyers’ ‘We Summon the Darkness,’ which is now in post-production.

She joins Jake Abel (‘Love & Mercy,’ ‘Dirty John’), Annabelle Wallis (‘Tag,’ ‘The Loudest Voice’) and George Young (‘Containment,’ EA’s ‘Anthem’).

Moreover, Wan and Ingrid Bisu crafted the story, while the screenplay credit is still unclear.

Additionally, on August 2nd, Wan gave some insight on this new project on Instagram:

“I’m super excited to go back to my indie roots with this hard-R thriller. An original horror idea (not a reboot/remake or anything based on existing IP) with old school, practical effects and no giant, blue screen sets.”

Further, filming will begin September 23rd in Los Angeles. After, at the top of 2020, he will start pre-production on Warner Bros.’ ‘Aquaman 2,’ releasing December 16, 2022.

There is no release date at the moment.
