Live Action Winnie The Pooh Movie Finds its Director

Disney continues to dive into its vault of animated classics and craft them into modern-day live action remakes. Starting with Maleficent and continuing with Cinderella and The Jungle Book, Disney is poised to continue their successful track record with next years Beauty and the Beast. Cinema Blend and Variety are reporting that a live action Winnie the Pooh movie, which has been in development since last year, is one step closer to reality.

Alex Ross Perry is writing the script for the upcoming film, titled Christopher Robin. Based on the A.A. Milne books, the story will see an adult Christopher Robin return to the Hundred Acre woods after losing his sense of imagination. His childhood friend Pooh decides to reignite his sense of wonder and belief in the magic of his youth. Disney has tapped director Marc Forster to direct the film. Forster’s previous films include World War Z, Quantum of Solace and Finding Neverland.
