Majorie Finnegan Temporal Criminal #5

You know you’re generally in for some weirdness when reading Garth Ennis. Of course that can be said with most comics, but Ennis takes things to another level. Naturally, some of that’s been on display throughout the first four issues of Majorie Finnegan Temporal Criminal — which are now available in a collected edition. But my jaw had yet to drop like it did Majorie Finnegan Temporal Criminal #5.

While Marjorie, her sister and Tim figure out their next course of action, readers learn more about the Lord of Evil. We also gain some insight into Marjorie’s brief marriage to Stan Zanzibar, who looks like the devil yet isn’t the most evil character in this story — in fact, it seems his motivations are rooted in something other than evil.

While that insight adds to the story, the SparkNotes version of the Lord of Evil’s origin story is the central focus of Majorie Finnegan Temporal Criminal #5. Let’s just say, there are a few panels from that part of the issue that’ll stick with readers. I would be careful who you read this around.

What’s more, Stan talks about that issue a little more, which helps reveal the Lord of Evil may share similar views with a Mad Titan comic book readers know all too well.

Score: 9
